Olivier Garcia was born in Lille in 1956. Of Spanish origin by his father and Flemish by his mother, Olivier Garcia's story is made up of intertwining and encounters.

Sensitized very young to contemporary art, (Fernand Léger, Picasso, Tapiès, Miró...) the meeting, in 1986, with Jean-Michel Basquiat and the psychoanalyst Jani Namias is decisive: doctor by training, he nevertheless intends, by choice and by passion, to create contemporary furniture.

His source of inspiration is essentially meetings. Spiced with some contemporary artists: painters, sculptors and photographers.

The requirement of the exceptional

The choice of materials is essential in Olivier Garcia's creative approach.

Precious wood, ebony, violet wood, sycamore, amourette are enhanced by associations with the raw metals oxidized or non-oxidized steel, raw brass or gold-plated or solid gold.

Olivier Garcia likes to push the limits of materials to the limit, he likes to tame them, to take them towards forms, ever new states, thus shaping the secret.

THE DIAMONDS

Olivier Garcia decides to place a little bit of himself in his creations, this is the challenge he proposes: Footprint, coat of arms, story, the desire of the commissioner is told to the ear of the creator and transcribed on the surface of this exceptional piece of furniture in the most precious materials: ebony, ruby, diamond, crocodile.

The drawing of the inlay thus represents a personal or family symbol, the only one known to the sponsor, who registers as a co-creator of mystery.
